PRIHA TO HOST INAUGURAL WOMENS TRAINING CAMP

PRIHA Women’s National Program Inaugural Philadelphia Training Camp Begins Tomorrow. The Puerto Rico Ice Hockey Association is proud to announce the first-ever PRIHA Women’s National Program Training

The Puerto Rico Ice Hockey Association is proud to announce the first-ever PRIHA Women’s National Program Training Camp, taking place June 10–11, 2026 at IceWorks Skating Complex in Aston, Pennsylvania.

This landmark event represents another major step forward for women’s hockey within PRIHA following a historic year for the program — including winning Gold at the 2025 IIHF Women’s 3-on-3 Tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Over the past year, PRIHA has continued to rapidly expand its women’s and youth development pipeline, bringing together athletes from across North America who are passionate about representing Puerto Rico on the international stage.

The Philadelphia camp will bring together collegiate athletes, elite U19/U16 players, and youth athletes under one crest for two days of high-level development, evaluation, competition, team building, and national program culture.

Women’s Program Head Coach Lee Elias commented on the event: “The growth of our program over the past year has been incredible. Bringing our athletes together in person is essential not only for evaluation, but for continuing to build the culture, identity, and standard of PRIHA Women’s Hockey moving forward. Events like this help our athletes grow on and off the ice while also moving us closer toward our long-term goals within the IIHF. I’m extremely grateful for the continued support PRIHA has shown our women’s program as we continue building something truly special together.”

More than just a camp, this event is designed to help athletes:

  • Develop their hockey IQ and skill sets

  • Learn PRIHA systems and style of play

  • Build relationships within the program

  • Prepare for future PRIHA international opportunities

  • Continue growing the future of Puerto Rican women’s hockey

The camp will feature:

  • On-ice practices

  • Exhibition games

  • Classroom sessions

  • Mobility and performance development

  • Team building activities

  • Guest speakers and coaches

  • National program evaluations

This event will also lead directly into the Fiesta de Hockey 3v3 event taking place June 12–14, creating a full PRIHA hockey weekend for athletes and families traveling to the Northeast.
